HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!! It's Awesome to be back!

Wow! It's almost been 1 year since my last post and I can't believe how fast time flies. What to talk about first? Where to begin? Okay, well today is February 10, 2011 and so much has happened over the past year and a half. We have been so busy with just about everything from work, church, school, family and everything in between.

Ephraim - is now 16 yrs old and is a Jr. in High School, preparing for college, playing football & rugby, and attending seminary, he has a lot on his plate of goals and "things to accomplish." He's excited about playing ball. Since I've been working for Hawaiian Airlines, my family has been fortunate to fly for free, thus making it possible for Ephraim to fly back & forth to visit his dad and the Semo side of the family quite often. Of course he doesn't mind flying in first class whenever he wants, so it's given him the opportunity to travel. I'm excited for Ephraim to venture out and see what options are available to him in the "college & education" department. Lots to plan for and so much to do.

Anton - is now 14 yrs old and a freshman in high school and so far is enjoying it. He & his older brother are two peas in a pod when it comes to seminary, and church activities. He is familiarizing himself around the school campus and is enjoying all that high school has to offer. He also plays rugby for the Kona bulls and is beginning to envelope his inner talents. After being last year's May Day King at the Intermediate school, he has added to his same circle of friends.

Alafou - is 13 going on 20 and is quite Ms. Congeniality with her classmates and friends. Aside from being chosen to represent the island of Kaua'i in this years May Day program, she is balancing a heavy schedule with a GPA of 3.9. She too is playing rugby for the Kona Bulls this year along side being her class president in the Beehive class at church. She loves her Young Women projects & activities and is a good example to her friends and family.

Tony - he is 10 yrs old and will be 11 in May this year. He is definitely the baby of the family and always seems to get his way. He will be graduating this year from the 5th grade (elementary school) and is on his way to Intermediate school next year. He is the fastest runner in our family and also plays rugby for the Kona Bulls. He has a few girls who think he's cute in his class and laughs about it while he tells me. (quite the man on campus) *wink*. He has done a good job progressing in cub scouts and will soon be transfering to Boys Scouts this coming May.

All 4 of our kids has done a tremendous job balancing their activities, church, school, home & work. We are so proud of all of their accomplishments , time & effort that they put forth into all they do.

I am currently working as a Supervisor for Hawaiian Airlines and wasn't prepared for such a challenging position. It has definitely been a blessing to my family & I to have me work there, although I truly believe there is something else in store for me at the time. Over the past few weeks I've had the time to organize my house, update calendars & chore charts. I even paid a visit to my kids school and sat through a day with them in their classes. It was very interesting, but fun to see how they are at school, around their friends & away from home.

This year has a lot of positive things in store for our family, along with changes, come challenges and progress. All of which we are looking forward to. Our family just created dream boards last week to hang on our walls for encouragement, inspiration and motiavation. Our family home evenings are full of the spirit and has definitely helped with our family's progess.

I am so Thankful for all that we have been blessed with. I'm Grateful to our Loving Heavenly Father for showing us all that we need to do to return to live with him. Through example, faith & testimonies can we be better missionaries and friends to all who are watching. We learn through our mistakes and try our best to do better and move forward.

One of my challenges is to stay on top of my posts on blogspot and keep posting for our friends & family.

FOU'S POLY CLUB PERFORMANCE

Fou has been attending an after school program (Polynesian Club) at her Intermediate school. They practiced for their performance at our Community FREE Kids club fair day at the High School this past weekend. She danced tahitian, tongan, samoan and hawaiian. They did an awesome job!!

Our Beautiful neice Audrey Haleloke Carter just turned 8 years old and was baptized last week Sunday. It was such an awesome evening filled with the spirit and wise words of wisdom in the talks that we heard. Ward & family members came out to support her in her decision to be baptized.. We Love you Audrey!!

Ephraim had a Great time going to the Jr. Prom with his friend Lingi from church & school. Weeks of preparation, fitting for the tux, comparing colors etc. He had a blast. He danced all night long and didn't sit down except to eat dinner ! hahaha. Thanks Lingi for taking Ephraim....he can't wait till his own Jr. Prom comes along..

RUGBY......it's been a few months now that Ephraim, Anton & Tony have been playing rugby for the KONA BULLS TEAM. Dirty shorts, muddy cleats, and stinky socks and gym bags is what has filled our garage for awhile now. It all pays off itself to see the gratification on our boys faces to know that they played with all their hearts!!! We're so very proud of them in all they set out to accomplish.

Fou has been practicing with a volleyball team here in kona as well and has the perfect height and stature for this awesome game! She has been working hard on her game and plans to keep it up for next season as well.

Sports is such a big thing here in the islands, especially outdoor sports. The kids are having fun and enjoying themselves too.

We enjoyed our entire Holiday celebration!! We spent time with Jill, Keers, Owen and their families... From popping fireworks to indulging in some onolicious food. Ephraim flew in from Samoa and our family is together once again. Bowling, BBQ'n, shopping, dancing, music, movies you name it, we did it..........it's nice to know that we have these fun family times to look forward to... Happy New Year to everyone!! This year will be a year filled with goals, achievements and spending more time with family....

As xmas break approaches, we try to find every way possible to keep our kids busy... They love spending time with their cousins, watching tv, riding bikes, and other fun stuff too... today was a pretty fun day. My 2 sisters Jill & Keers and all of our kids went to the movies today to watch "The Princess & The Frog," and also "Avatar." It was great spending time with the family. We are still waiting on the arrival of Ephraim. I'm hoping & praying he'll be here Friday!!

Our family trip to Oahu....

Much needed and long awaited, it was a short yet sweet mini vacation for our family.....We packed and left for Oahu to spend a weekend there seeing the sights, driving around the island and showing the kids my old stomping grounds. Since they've never been to Oahu, this truly was a treat!! We got the hook up from a good friend of mine (Thanks Boy!) to stay in Waikiki in a 2 bdrm condo that overlooked the city... we spent time eating, and driving and enjoying the sights of North Shore......We toured the visitors center at the Laie Temple as well as walked around BYUH for awhile.

We then headed over to the Polynesian Cultural Center where we practically spent the entire day walking through the villages, taking the canoe ride around, and indulging in the polynesian feast that was prepared for us. The highlight of our trip was the new night show called "HA"... meaning the breath of life......... it blew us away, the meaning, the dances, and everything, it was totally spectacular!!!

We're so Grateful that we had the opportunity to go, even though Ephraim was supposed to come but didn't... it's okay, we'll wait till xmas to see him very soon!

THANKSGIVING.......

Can't believe it's that time of year already.The Holiday season has officially begun! Today, started off baking, cooking & cleaning getting ready for today's festivities at Kierstin's house...Jill & her family were there, my family as well, owen's family & also a couple of his high school classmates who were visiting, aunty pinkie & Kaohu and of course our close friend of the family.......Jonah.

Sooo much food and not enough time to devour it all, although we all surely tried... with our turkey, stuffing, mashed potato's, yams, massive side dishes and a variety of deserts, we took the party outside on kierstin's front lawn to rest & relax as we watched the sun set.

It was also Jaron & Kennan's 3rd birthday celebration as well, so we celebrated with cake, ballooons, ice cream and gifts!!!

With so much Grattitude & Humility that we've gained this past year, we look forward to a prosperous new year with growth, in so many directions.......I love my family & I'm Grateful of where I came from....my family means everything to me and I'm Thankful for my Loving parents and everything they've taught me........I AM TRULY BLESSED!!

FUNDRAISER FOR A DEAR FRIEND......

Anton, Fou & Tony have been practicing 3-4 times a week after school & on the weekends for a samoan dance group that they've been asked to be a part of. The purpose? a fundraiser event for a dear friend of ours who has been diagnosed for 2+ times with cancer. She simply cannot afford her chemothereapy, therefore this event is specifically to help her financially in anyway needed. We love her so much and are so happy that we have had the opportunity to meet her & her wonderful family.

Our 3 children danced for this event and I was soo very proud of them, they did an AWESOME job! I hope you can see & hear the video clearly. Love you Anton, Fou & Tony........

CHEAP CHEAP GAS

Since I last wrote, we have been extremely busy........well, should I say we all have been very busy... I left for training for my U.S. Airways GSC & CRO certification for my new position at Hawaiian Airlines... so I flew to Phoenix, AZ last Sunday evening (nov. 8) and returned home on Thurs (nov.12th). It was a fun class & I met so many new people from U.S. Airways from LAX, Denver, & San Jose. I passed all of my tests with flying colors and enjoyed our instructor's way of teaching us..... especially being that this is my 1st job with the airlines, I found it quite interesting.

Flying benefits is what I will enjoy the most working for Hawaiian Airlines, especially that my family can fly!! Not only that, but we receive benefits from different companies all over the west coast....

During my stay there, I also had the chance to visit with our dear friend Germaine and her husband. She cooked up some serious delicious food. (she loves to cook).... I enjoyed every minute of my visit with her as she toured me around her gorgeous renovated home that has been a completed project for her & her hubby for quite some time... they're so proud of their hard work.

I couldn't believe how many cactus there were there.........(well i guess so, it is desert after all)...there were clay mountains everywhere, it was as if we were in playdough land...hehehe. I couldn't get over how cheap gas was and also food in the grocery store... something I miss so much!!

Tony has also been busy with work and I thank him so much for his hard work & dedication in caring for our family!! I love you honey!!

Ephraim will be visiting us for x-mas break and we cannot wait.. it's been 7 long months and we all miss him so much...all 4 of our children have been doing fantastic in school, church and extra cirricular activities..........we are so very proud of them.

With the holidays approaching rapidly, our family is planning some fun things to do involving travel. Maybe a trip outer island on our days off and a little shopping in between..... exciting exciting exciting.!

With the economic decline that we're all experiencing in one way or another, we've had our family's share of ups & downs. Through our tested FAITH, OBEDIENCE and the certain POWER OF PRAYER, we have been tremendously blessed in many ways. For 6 months now, I have been trying to get on board with Hawaiian Airlines. Not only for secured income, but as we all know.............THE TRAVEL PERKS......WE CAN FLY!!! yipee.... I finally got hired a few days ago and I'm so excited to start. I have training in Pheonix, Arizona next week, then Honolulu.

Tony will now take over my full-time job here at the Resort......Our family has been so blessed!! We are GRATEFUL ............

My apologies everyone for not posting in such a long time.... So much has happened which has taken up a lot of my time for blogging and taking pictures...wow!

There was recently a tsunami & earthquake in SAMOA where Ephraim is living and so although he's fine and so is his family, there are other things that needed to be tended to. I'm in the process of coordinating a concert event for the families of SAMOA who have suffered tremendous loss (lost family members and/or personal items & belongings.. to help raise monies to help them in any we can. I am working together with the Red Cross Association of America (Hawaii State Chapter) to ensure a successful event on Oahu at the Turtle Bay Hilton.

I miss Ephraim so much and can't wait till he comes home for the holidays. Tony, the kids & I are doing great otherwise. Staying busy with school, church, home & family is where we give our 100%.

Anton & Fou recently received their Progress Reports and happily can say that they are A students this year...*ALL SMILES*.... we are very proud of their accomplishments & efforts.

I'll try to stay on top of my postings!!! Sorry everyone....

Our family decided to join my brother Owen & his wife fishing this past Saturday.. So, we packed up the cooler with drinks & snacks, got our poles & chairs and headed down to do some fishing!! The kids had never been fishing here before & they had a really good time! From fish to eels, sting rays, puffer fish, octopus and even a shark! We saw it all and had so much fun, the kids didn't want the night to end. Here are some of our fun pix of that night....

Ephraim is enjoying himself in American Samoa, and to date he has been gone 2 1/2 months so far. He is playing both offense & defense on the Leone Lions football team for Leone High School. He is so far the biggest player they have (and of course he's loving it)...hehehehe. We miss him so much and can't wait to see him during x-mas this year for his visit home. Uncle Hans Taala from Laie came for a quick trip for Aunty's birthday this past weekend, and also to take in a few sessions at the temple. We had them over for dinner and really enjoyed their company. This time, we let the kids cook..... they made steak & chicken on the grill, corn on the cob, crisp green beans, and garlic mashed potatoes........they did a great job! and we had a fun filled evening....

Our Kona 2nd Ward Beach Day was a Great turnout this year.... not only was it the perfect day, but it's been awhile since we've had a ward activity like this in an enviornment that we can actually relax, enjoy and have fun!

There were BBQ hot dogs, hamburgers, salads & deserts.. the kids swam, played football & volleyball while the adults just sat & enjoyed one anothers company. I can't wait to have another one!!

Once a year usually in September, the EK Fernandez fair comes to town.. it's filled with rides, ono food, games & petting zoo. Well, minus the petting zoo this year, the kids had so much fun! Between the ZIPPER, PHANTOM'S EDGE & BUMPER CARS, our kids rode all they could before their tickets ran out... poor baby tony got sick on one of the rides. But aside from that, they enjoyed their corn on the cob, lemonade, caramel apples and their chance to play games..... it was fun.

We are trying to make it a point to have a family night out on Friday nights... This past Friday we had dinner at the Keauhou Shopping Center, then headed over to the Outrigger Keauhou to enjoy the evenings hula competition & also to watch my niece (Tia Taala) compete.. She won 2nd place and did a fabulous job!! Love you Tia!

Cub Scout Service Project

We had Great time!! Our cub scouts volunteered to do a 'Service Project' which included cleaning, picking up trash & weeding at Kealakekua Bay... Our day began early at 6am, and the boys hiked down the valley as the parents took a double hauled canoe ride to meet them at them at the Captain Cook Monument. There, they worked for about an hour or so and then we swam and snorkled, while the men caught fish & octopus to show the kids how to clean & eat it... the sun was shining, the water was clear & warm and everyone (including myself) had a fantastic time!!! at the end of our day although we were sunburned, tired & sore we had big smiles on our faces from ear to ear!! IT WAS A GREAT DAY!!

She is the youngest girl in Tony's family..........Fiti and her husband Daniel tied the knot a few weeks ago, and we're soooo excited for them both! Fiti made a beautiful bride and Dan a very handsome groom. Although we were unable to make it to the wedding in Utah, we were able to steal some pictures from everyone's myspace & facebook...hehehehe. She looked Gorgeous in her wedding dress and I loved the green & black colors that blended so well with her "VINTAGE" theme......Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. DeWitt!!!

He's recently just recovered from strep throat, but after seeing the dr. there, he seems to be doing a lot better. We miss him so much and can't wait to see him during x-mas break.........

Can't believe another year has come & gone.........Yes I am the big "36"... wow! I had a wonderful day spent with my family... My hubby made an ono breakfast for me before I headed to work for a few hours, only to have lunch with my good friends Kanoe & Lopaka at Macaroni Grill....We had a great visit with them all the while enjoying some good food! We went home and spent time with my kids and watched movies and ate junk food for the rest of the night........I HAD A GREAT BIRTHDAY!

Some of our very good friends from Federal Way Washington (Mana & Melissa Havili)'s oldest daughter Megan who is now 21 years old.......(still can't believe it), came here for her roomates wedding (Jamie Dumaguin) who just happens to be good friends with us as well, and a member of our ward..(SMALL WORLD!!) Anyhoo, Megan has been here for a week and she's been such a joy to have.. It's been awesome catching up with her in all her progress in college, and life in general. We're so proud of her and promised her that we would make it up to Wa. for her wedding in the next few years.. She's beautiful in everyway and reminds me so much of her parents. Her mom & dad are and will always be soooo VERY SPECIAL to my entire family.!!! We love you Megan and hope to see you folks again soon!

We had so much fun this past weekend, that we just HAD TO DO IT ONE MORE TIME!! We had everyone over our house for dinner.. it is Tony's specialty.......Teriyaki, avocado, bacon, mozerella cheese melted all in between artesian square rolls....we haven't even given it a name yet... IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Everyone came over for dinner last night. We had one last chance to see our aunty's before leaving to go home....as always, the kids had fun hangin out and so did we!

What comes to mind when I think of "FAMILY?"...........Love, togetherness, laughter & joy!! This weekend was full of it during our weekend in Waikoloa.....Aunty Lani, Aunty Moana, Aunty Noreen, Uncle Harvey, Aunty Pinkie and cousin Kaohu treated all of us to a stay in Waikoloa this weekend for a fun filled weekend of Ono food, fun, laughs, ono food, fun laughs and much more!! It was such an event and I'm glad our children were able to witness this....I felt my mom there with us as we talked about our childhood, growing up, our parents, grandparents etc. All the while, enjoying some good ol home cookin and lots of fun in the sun! It definitely motivates me to start my geneology work for the next generation to have.... I'm so Grateful to come from such an awesome, talented family.....Thank you mom & dad for all you've taught us!! I'm proud of who I am!!!

The Theme for this year's Young Women Program is the Parable of "The 10 Virgins" being prepared in all you do.. Our Young Women met last night at our local Pottery Barn to mold, sculpt & shape our Herodian Lamps....We had so much fun spending time together and having the opportunity to chit chat with our young women in our ward. They have so much talent & vivacity and I'm always inspired, uplifted & rejuvinated whenever I'm with them..... We had a Wonderful Time!!

Baby Tony: is 9 yrs old and in the 4th grade at Kealakehe Elementary School. He's so inquisitive about everything and anything and always has questions to ask me... his mind is always running and I love his random thoughts that he constantly blurts out.. it makes me laugh!! His organizational skills are impeccable and he reminds me so much of his dad! He enjoys school very much as well as going to church on Sundays...He is our big little helper at home too, always eager to help....
Fou: Is 12 yrs old going on 25.....She's in 7th grade and has grown soo much within the past few months.. She's almost taller than me! She's so full of vibrance & energy and loves her school work & stays on top of her homework! She's now a part of our Young Women program in our ward and truly enjoys the friendship of the girls. She's a big help around the house when it comes to cooking & baking....her brownies and homemade cakes are delicious
Anton: Is now a TEENAGER (13) and an 8th Grader at Kealakehe Intermediate School and is growing with each passing day. He says his 8th grade year so far is Great! He enjoys his teachers and especially having his cousins & sister at school makes it fun =). He's exceling in his Scouting Program and also enjoys his Young Men activities. We're proud of you Anton!
Ephraim: Is now a Sophmore in High School (15 yrs old) He's been in Samoa now for 1 month and 3 weeks and loves life there! He's been practicing football now since he's arrived there, and is doing awesome! He's beginning this year's season playing both Defensive & Offensive End for Leone Lions...He's also been attending his Uncle Miki's ward (who is now a bishop), and has time to spend with his cousins too. He started school this past Monday and shared with me how different things are there. He seems to blend right in with the kids in school. I had to laugh because he told me what kinds of things they have for lunch.....(2 slices of bread with a slice of ham & a cold can of peas) hahahaha. I'm glad he is enjoying himself there. We Love & miss you Ephraim!

A LONG DISTANCE TREAT!!!

On Saturday, we were informed that a basketball team all the way from American Samoa were here for a championship tournament in kona. A few of the girls are related to Tony through Uncle Mativa Tupe....There were 4 coaches, 8 girls and 9 boys all high school ages. This came close to my heart just knowing that they would probably all run into Ephraim at one point or another back home in Samoa. there were 3 kids from Ephraim's village of Leone and the rest were from the surrounding areas..... They came, visited, enjoyed a scrumptuous BBQ dinner that Uncle Mativa donated for them =) and after, we were treated by song & dance.....most of which I was able to catch on video...I hope you enjoy this just as much as I did.....IT WAS A TREAT!

The "Hiram" ohana...From Papa Moses Hiram & Grandma Catherine Keaunui, their posterity has grown into an endless vine of family members from the South Pacific, all the way through to Sweeden.

My Grandfather (William Edmund Hiram) is the son of Papa Moke & Grandma Catherine Keaunui, who also has brothers & sisters.... One of the brothers Uncle Douglas Hiram's eldest daughter (Dovalyn Hiram) is visiting here from the Bay area of San Francisco. It's been awesome talking story with her as she just returned home from the "Pahia, Ahuna & Hiram" family reunion this summer. She has given me copies of some geneology records to share with my family and also do our portion of adding to the "family vine." She will be here with her son Manny till tomorrow, then they'll be heading off to SF... Love you Cousin!

12 years old is such a good age........I remember so much I've learned since I turned 12, especially as a part of our Young Women's program in church. From cooking & cleaning, to working, babysitting, & service projects etc. It was a fun time of my life and just the beginning of being a TEENAGER.

Our daughter Fou has finally entered into Young Women after turning 12 years old last Tuesday. She's so excited to be able to participate in all the Youth activities such as Personal Progress, weekly activities, dances, dinners, awards, campouts & sleepovers..

I am the Beehive Advisor in our Kona 2nd ward and truly enjoy our girls so much. They teach me so much on a regular basis and just to see them grow in so many different areas of their lives as a young woman in the church makes me so happy to know that my daughter will be learning these same values..... I can't belive that I still remember our Young Woman theme... I thank our YW Presidency for their hard work and diligence in all they do. I have the opportunity to work with an Awesome Presidency on a regular basis...........Fou has so much to look forward to!

Last night our YW program welcomed in Fou with a Pool party & BBQ at our ward members house. The girls had a blast and swam to their hearts content... The food was ono!

It was a short, but fun visit to see Marla & meet her new ohana at Dayla & Jakes house yesterday evening.. We all met up there for some one on one time to visit, swim, enjoy some good food and chit chat with one another... Since it was also the same day as our kids birthday slumber party, we had to cut our visit short... It was my first experience to have 2 birthday celebrations in one family at once!!! Anton turned 13 and Fou turned 12......We celebrated it by having a few of their close cousins & friends over, and enjoyed dinner teriyaki chicken wings, tossed salad, pizza bites, & lemonade. (At Fou's request).....we pitched aunty keers tent in our front yard where the girls slept, or at least tried to sleep through the night till the rain storm hit.....hahahaha. They were soaking wet!

Anyway, the kids made & decorated their own cupcakes in all different kinds of flavors & colors and ate it with ice cream to their hearts content. They opted to watch the new Harry Potter movie, and play some video games, open gifts, listened to music, and then.............at 10:30pm? their mini talent show began!! It was hilarious......Tony & I just sat there in amazement at their creativity & humor.... I'm so glad our kids had fun.......Enjoy the pics!

Dads are so special in each & every way..........During my dads visit, everyone had their own one on one time to spend with dad & Sue... I'm so Grateful for a loving father who with a stern voice, showed us unconditional love from when we were young. He has taught me so much, from hard work, to discipline, spontaneity (sp?), humor, and more hard work! We've been so fortunate to learn and grow with the things he's taught us. We had a wonderful visit with him & his new family this past week. While staying with him at his vacation house, we had the chance to hang out, chat, rest, relax, laugh, cry and talk story with him before he goes home. They are vacationing in a Gorgeous house that is big enough for a mini family reunion...hahaha. The kids just swam all night long as we visited under the stars... we'll be heading back everyday during their visit to spend as much time with them as we can. There comes a time in a persons life where somewhere along the journey, there are certain people, or different places that cause us to re-think our purpose for why we seem to do the things we do....it's called our "AHA" moments.. I've had a few in less than a month that have completely re-vamped my direction , and somehow given me that inspiration & motivation I need to push forward. This includes attending our Beautiful Kona Temple that we have right here in our backyard. I find so much joy & peace when I'm there, that helps me to focus on our true meaning & purpose here on earth.

My 4 children bring true happiness to my heart knowing that I am their mother. We as parents hope & pray daily that we are doing the best that we can guiding & directing them as Heavenly Father would like us to. I, on the other hand know that I am learning with each passing day to become a better wife, mother, sister & daughter.

Our world today is corrupt at times, pin pointing things that really don't matter. We can choose to focus on all the negetivity in the world, or we can CHOOSE to change things in a positive manner. I am so blessed to have been born to my parents Joseph & Audrey Keliiholokai. The teachings that they taught me as a child growing up were amazing! and I wouldn't change anything for the world. Our challenges & hardships that we had as children, were learning experiences for me, and especially now as a mother & wife of my own family, it truly has taught me lessons along life's pathway.

I just had another "AHA" moment tonite and thought I'd share that......stay tuned as there WILL be more to come! Love & appreciate you all.....

With all that's been happening in our Palepoi household within the past several weeks, we've been busy-bee's with family visits, work, church, and more work. All Great things...........We've had Sini & Uncle Tupe visit us from Utah & Texas, Janet & Lynnette visiting from Vegas, Tenny & Marc visiting from Salt Lake, Utah, and Ephraim leaving for Samoa to live with his dad.. Lots of emotions goin on.........like I mentioned..........All Great things!

We have truly been blessed with our jobs, our health & strength, and especially being members of this soo Wonderful church. We have so much to be Grateful for especially at this time where the economy isn't the best. All we can do is have FAITH and keep moving forward. The Gospel gives us hope, inspiration, and a brighter outlook on life!!

Tomorrow is Ephraim's last day with us as he will be leaving with his dad to American Samoa to live there for a year. He is now 15 years old and has been such a great child to have... In just a few years he'll be graduating from High School. I can't get over how much time has passed and how quickly it flies by....We're going to miss him so much but I know that it will only benefit him by being there learning his culture and spending time with his family.......WE LOVE YOU EPHRAIM & are very proud of your hard work & accomplishments that you have done thus far...We wish him the best of luck in Samoa & I WILL plan on having him return in 1 year.... =) hahahaha..

This year, our Samoan Ward who is a part of our ward (kona 2nd) put on our Father's Day dinner & dance... It was such a splendid turnout, and the families that came, had lots of fun!! Here's a few pictures that I took throughout the night as were enjoying our dinner......shrimp scampi, taro, ulu, palusami, curry lamb, kalua pork, pasta salads, tossed salads, chop suey, smoked meat and so much more!

The music was awesome from 60's, 70's & 80's....from Earth, Wind, & Fire, Commodores, to Michael Jackson.........we had a blast! The kids especially enjoyed themselves. We hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we did!!

Our Scouting program in our ward is awesome! They do such a wonderful job keeping track of our boys and their achievements in their scouting program. My sister Jill is one of the scout leaders and has been for a few years.. Thanks Jill! Tonite, the boys celebrated their achievements and received their awards followed by a family potluck afterwards... the kids enjoyed themselves and had a great time! Amari (keers son) Elias (jill's son) & baby tony attended and all earned their badges & awards... we're so proud of them!! Congratulations Boys!

What a beautiful beginning of a Beautiful day!! Cousin Glen Palepoi and his wife-to-be arrived this morning at 6am at the kona airport. Tony picked them up & took them to the Kona temple for his fiance's temple endowments. He then attended their sealing at noon and said it was beautiful. Small, simple, very intimate, and most of all.........Spiritual! We had the opportunity to host them here at our home for awhile until they headedhome. We met Aunty Elaisa & Aunty Va and the groom himself.......Glen Palepoi. It was definitely a long day for everyone, but well worth it!

Maybe I'm just an old fart, and this recipe has been around for ages....I just tried these cookies at the rugby potluck and they're made from devils food CAKE MIX!! I tried to make this minus the chocolate chips & walnuts (which probably would've made it taste a whole lot better) but instead, I had Hershey's Kisses so I used those instead... it was good... If you're wanting to try a sweet treat this summer, here is the recipe...GOOD LUCK!

1 package/box plain devils food cake mix
1/3 cup water
4 tablespoons butter (1/2 stick), MELTED
1 large egg
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Place rack in center of oven and preheat ove to 350 degrees. Lightly grease pans (if using non stick spray) & set aside.

Place cake mix, water, melted butter, and egg in large mixing bowl and blend with electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute. Stop & scrap sides of bowl with rubber spatula. Increase speed to medium and bea for 1 minute more. The cookie dough will be thick. Fold chocolate chips and nuts into batter until evenly distributed.

Drop heaping teaspoons of the dough 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheets. Place the pans in the oven. If both pans cannot fit on the same rack, put one pan on the rack above and rotate pans half way through baking time.

Bake the cookies until they are set but are still soft in the middle 10-12 minutes. Remove pans from oven and let cookies rest on the cookie sheets for 1 minute. Remove the cookies with metal spatula to wier racks to cool completely (20 minutes).

After our last family morning prayer with the group of Young Men that we hosted at our house this year, we had the chance to get to know them just a bit more before everyone left. Such well mannered youth, and both Tony & I were very impressed. Their willingness to attend the conference and everything that they learned. We only wish we had more time to spend with them.

We were able to attend the Devotional/Testimony meeting at the chapel this morning at 8:00am..The strength of the youth today is absolutely AMAZING! Their strengthened testimonies during this youth conference and the stories they shared were inspiring to me. Especially to know that they are the LEADERS OF TOMORROW.

I'm so Thankful to know that our church has programs like these to help strengthen our Youth in Zion. I remember when I was in Mutual (that's what we called it then) I was extremely impressed with the organization of the church and being able to attend all of the activities that is offered to the youth. I cried when it was time to leave because I met some talented, amazing friends at each of these gatherings. Tony also attended the same year as I did.........EFY (Especially For Youth) in 1988 at BYU Provo........I wouldn't have traded those experiences for the world. So thankful to my parents for allowing me to be a part of the many church activities as a youth in the church. It helped us become who we are today.................

Here in Kona, SPORTS is EVERYTHING!! The kids that live here are soo involved in sports of all kinds... from baseball, softball, football, canoe paddling, swimming, volleyball, basketball, golfing etc. This year Anton decided to play Rugby and Uncle Raymond decided to coach the 12-14 year olds.. They had fun and even though it sometimes seemed unorganized, the kids accomplished their main goal...............GET OUT & HAVE FUN!! It was a shorter season than usual, so we attended their last night of giving out awards..(mini potluck style)... Although it seemed manini (small) it was all about comradery (sp?) Our boys had fun this year!!

Okay, so it's hardly EVER that I have a day to myself to just GOOF AROUND!! With Ephraim & Jonah gone at Youth Conference and baby Tony away at Scout Camp, it leaves just Anton & Fou @ home with me. So today? We headed out for lunch @ Little Ceasars Pizza, then drove out pass Keauhou to FINALLY visit the 'newly renovated' park that my sister has been raving about...

HIGASHIHARA PARK. It has definitely changed a whole lot and has a much bigger & better playground, with new ammenities such as a pavillion, bathrooms and more parking. We spent sometime there with my two BIG KIDS as they acted like little kids and ran around the playground.... We then headed to the kona library to get more books & educational dvd's to help occupy their time during summer break. We will be heading out tonite for the Rugby Awards Potluck.......It seems like we hardly ever have time to rest!!!

Can you believe? it's that time of year again........Ephraim & Jonah are attending the Youth Conference this year. It began last night with the youth being divided into groups of 5-8 kids and staying with their host families (locally here in kona). Tony & I volunteered to be a host family to a group of boys & their leader. We met them at last nights 'Ice Breaker' activity and also dinner/fireside featuring 2 guest speakers.........Brother & Sister Groberg from the movie "The Other Side of Heaven." It was an honor to hear them both speak of experiences throughout their lives, and as they shared with the youth how they both have been blessed for making righteous choices & encouraging them to serve missions and enjoy spreading the gospel to those around us everyday. Their wisdom & knowledge of the gospel is not only spiritual on a higher level, but he also puts it in a way to where the youth of today can relate with their own modern day trials & tribulations. His wife also shared her testimony with the youth and uplifted & edified them to continue on their journey in life knowing that they are the "Blessed" children of Israel.

My testimony was surely strengthened by attending this most amazing fireside..... After the fireside, we headed home with our 5 boys and their leader. Their locations ranged from Kona, Waimea, Kohala, Keaukaha, Hilo & Puna... We watched "Facing the Giants" while we enjoyed goodies, then closed with a family prayer......I'M SO GLAD WE WERE A PART OF THIS YEARS CONFERENCE! This event is 3 days long beginning last night & lasting through Saturday..... I'll keep you posted! Today, they will be cleaning the Veterans Cemetery while preparing for their dance tonite =)

Tony is the oldest of 14 children (8 girls & 6 boys) in his family and we love & appreciate each and every one of them. Tenny just graduated this year from high school and has received a football scholarship to SNOW COLLEGE. We are soo very proud of him & his accomplishments throughout his high school years. He will be stopping by later on this month to visit with our family along with mom, janet, lynnette & sini... woo hoo! we can't wait! Just hangin out at the beach, gettin some sunshine, making some delicious food at home and gettin some good ol' R&R is what I we are all craving!! Can't wait to see you all and get to spend some time with the family..........WE LOVE YOU!

SCHOOL'S OUT!! Last day of school for our kids......songfest, class potlucks, parties, and making lei's for friends... It's what our house has been busy with the past few days... Our 5 kids have been extremely busy closing up their school year and getting ready for report cards to come out soon. They've done their best this year in school and we're proud of each & every one of them.

Ephraim - Will have a plate full attending youth conferences, football camps, youth activites & scouts as well. He will be a sophmore next year.

Anton - Will be his last year as an 8th grader next year at Kealakehe Intermediate school. He has taken an interest in a few sports. We'll narrow it down and get him right in there!

Alafou - She has definitely passed me already with her super long legs and energetic personality.. She's gearing up for volleyball & basketball next year....

Tony - Definitely the baby of the family & wants to hang out with the older ones... he's always willing to learn new things and such an obedient child....

We're lookin to do some fun things this summer with the kids maybe takin a trip to oahu for a few days & show the kids around and enjoy some time spent together.

We're sooo very proud of Ephraim & his efforts in today's football clinic... We had so much fun. We packed the van AGAIN. Tony & I took Ephraim, Jonah and their friend Fale to Hilo last night in preparation for today's football camp in Hilo. It was hard work since their day started at 6am and did nothing but football drills all the way to 2pm... They learned different techniques for football, and had the opportunity to work with different coaching staff and met the other boys from different high schools who came for the same reason..... EXPOSURE!! In the hot sun, they ran their 40's, ran line drills, defense & offense drills, weight training, & ran their vertical lines, did jumps, & took measurements for their online stats....

BIG ISLAND VOG.......

Okay, maybe my spirits aren't as high as usual but there's something about the VOG here in Kona. For those who don't know what VOG is, it's our version of L.A. SMOG.... only our VOG comes from the constant volcano flow (ash & smoke) here. We've had a few days last week of beautiful clear, blue, sunny skies with slight cool tradewinds however we had a few days of drizzles & rain.. which is nice to have in between the hot weather. I hope the VOG subsides soon to give our breathing passage ways a rest.....

Anton's been sick with fever for the past several days & I'm sure with some rest, he will regain his health & strength. Ephraim is home too with a sore back from weight lifting after school for football training, but he's been motivated to work at it, I'm so proud of him! He came to work with me today until Aunty Jill picks him up to take him to lunch for his birthday... Thanks Aunty Jill!

Tonite we have our Young Women's activity night at the movies & the Young men and Preisthood will be at the Bowling Alley... I'll be posting some pics soon!

"Aunty Dayla's Pool!!!" our kids are soooo familiar with this phrase.... Our long time family friend Dayla Clarke lives right up the road from us just a few minutes away, and yes! SHE HAS A POOL. We all Love to go there, not only for the pool for the panoramic view of the entire kona coastline. The blue skies and ocean is truly visible from the balcony of her house.

Saturday, we packed a few snacks and headed over there for a day at the pool. Totally underestimating the scattered clouds & minimal sunshine, I failed to put some sunscreen on myself and my kids bodies & faces..(bad mother)...hehehehehe. That didn't seem to stop us.... we swam for hours on end with the kids as we all splashed & played in the warm kona sunshine. It was definitely a treat beyond measure. Thanks Dayla for your awesome hospitality!!!

Being Parents of Teenagers!

Hair gel, body spray, cologne, sweaty socks, wall posters, seminary, youth activities, firesides, football practices, cell phone bills, constant outdated wardrobes, dances, phone calls, myspace, youth conference, football camps, shopping etc ..........YUP! you got it.......we literally have 3 going on 4 TEENAGERS in our house.. It's a lot more fun than I anticipated and we are fortunate to have good kids! This year has been one of our busiest.......we are looking forward to Youth Conference coming up soon, football practices & camps as well. Tony & I have caught onto their excitement and support our children 200% in all they do! I am Grateful to have the opportunity to learn with my children as they grow & mature in life, not only physically, but spiritually, mentally & emotionally as well.

Although at times it may seem as if we are being hard on them regarding homework & grades, they handle themselves pretty well. TV is no longer an option in our home rather reading & homework is their first & only choice. I find it humorous to listen to the kids conversation with the younger ones about school, church & friends. When I think back & 'remember when' I was their age.......how in the world did my parents put up with me????? hahahahahaha j/k.... Heavenly Father has definitely blessed us both with patience, time, sacrifice & determination to teach our children according to HIM. I know that time is of the essence when it comes to parenting children. I'm no expert however I believe that to be true with all my heart. I can still remember being a new mom wondering if I will be just as great as my mom was to us?? I try everyday to live up to those expectations in all that I do for my family....so far? I think I'm doing a pretty good job :-)

Up early..........cleaning & packing to reserve a nice shady area at our local pool to set up tent & food for Baby Tony's 9th birthday celebration..... It sure was nice spending the day with our family & friends while partaking of some pure 100% Hawaii sunshine......we spent nearly 5 hours swimming, eating, laughing and enjoying Tony's special day. Tonite, I am rubbing yogurt on my sunburned body (yess, yogurt cures sunburn instantly!) and also keeps you from peeling the next day.... You should try it, it really does work! Thank you to my family for making this a special day for all of us.........we had a Great Day!

I just ADORE our Young Women.....Their strength, vitality, upheld morals & values is what makes them sooo special!!! Every Thursday night, we have activities with our Young men and women.. From slumber parties & welcoming our newest beehives to the YW program, to teaching our girls new & exciting things that they will use throughout their lives.

Last night, the girls learned how to apply make up. Eyeshadows, lip glosses, lid liners, & blushes is what they used to 'decorate' each other's face. They had fun experimenting with different colors & shades not to mention learning a few new beauty tips here & there.....It was fun and we ended with some refreshments.

I appreciate every young women in our program and their individuality they bring to class every sunday. It's like a smorgasborg of testimonies that we all feed off of. I'm Grateful for my calling as an advisor in our Program and Thankful for our Leaders.

What an Awesome weekend we had spent with family & friends for Mother's Day......Saturday morning started off with a 7am temple session along with our Kona 2nd Ward Relief Society sisters in celebration of Mother's day.....After an inspiring morning, we headed to our Stake Center where the men & young men prepared a delicious breakfast for the women which consisted of pancakes, sausage, eggs & rice. Entertainment & decorations went hand in hand with an overwhelming supply of hugs & kisses from not only our children, but other ward members as well...... MAHALO!

The other half of the day was a special treat made up of pedicures, foot massages, 5-minute body massages and sewing handmade bags.... After all was said & done, Tony & I treated our kids to the movies to watch WOLVERINE... I must say, it was very good. Since our tummy's were full of popcorn, skittles, & goobers, we decided to head home to rest for the evening....however........my sister called & invited us over to her house for a BBQ dinner to spend with our Aunty Queeney visiting us from Oahu. We enjoyed an evening of laughs & stories...... It was a good night!

Sunday began with my kids giving me hugs n kisses, a card & lei's, Fou baked some chocolate chip cookies too.....At church the mother's were greeted with single long stem roses along with tons of hugs n kisses from everyone there. My husband spoke in Sacrament on the true meaning behind "Mother's Day".....he did such a great job and I was proud his time he spent on his preparation (1 week). We stopped at the Farmers market on our way home so I can prepare my fruit salad & tossed green salad to my sisters house for Mother's Day dinner. We played "How well do you know your MOM?" and our kids did Great! we ended with prayer and made our way home.......

I am sooo appreciative for the opportunity that I've had to know my MOM. She has taught me everything I know today. Her guidance & counsel shared together with Love, concern and genuine support in all I did throughout my life is what I'll treasure the most. She accepted my faults & still Loved me unconditionally. The talents, skills and dedication she had as a mother will remain with me for the rest of my life. She was full of zest for life, and always strived to do her BEST in all she set out to accomplish. Being goal driven was one of her best assetts not to mention her tenacity, her smile, her laugh and her unbelievable cooking skills that she inherited from her mother........our grandmother. Although she is no longer here with us, I continue to talk about her to my own children in hopes that they will have the chance to meet her in person someday. I Love you Mom, Thank you for giving me the most precious gift of all............YOU!

It's that time of year again.............MAY DAY CELEBRATION!!! My day was full bouncing around from one school to another watching our children perform for May Day... For those of you who are not familiar with May Day in Hawaii, The first Lei Day was held on May 1, 1928, and everyone in Honolulu was encouraged to wear lei. Festivities were held downtown with hula, music, lei making demonstrations and exhibits and lei making contests.
The Honolulu Star-Bulletin reported, "lei blossomed on straw and felt hats, lei decorated automobiles, men and women and children wore them draped about their shoulders. To the city Kamehameha's statue extended a garland of maile and plumeria, which fluttered in the wind from its extended hand. Lei recaptured the old spirit of the islands (a love of color and flowers, fragrance, laughter and aloha)."
In 1929, Lei Day was made an official holiday in the territory, a tradition which was interrupted only during the years of World War II, and which continues today.Many celebrations are also held at local schools. It's that time of year again when the cub scouts and boys scouts gather together for their "MAKAHIKI" event. Their Pinewood Derby race is also held during the same time... Our boys (Ephraim, Anton, Amari, Elias and Tony) had fun today... Dressed up in their uniforms, our boys began the day at 7am...ready to solute during the flag raising ceremony held at Hale Halawai in downtown Kona.... What a Beautiful day it was with blue clear skies and sunny warm temperatures to match..... everyone came out to support this yearly event.. Tony & baby Tony had quite a bit of Father-Son bonding time working on baby Tony's pinewood derby car. During the sanding & painting process all the way down to screwing on the wheels and giving it the last finishing touches it needed to qualify for the race.... It was a success and our kids had fun and really enjoyed themselves!!!

Our boys on the Kona Bulls rugby team has been working so very hard to earn their way to Oahu next week for their team's championship tournament. Between their practices, they've somehow managed to sell their tickets needed for their steak fry event.

It was an awesome evening full of hard work, enjoying friends, and not to mention Awesome entertainment put on by friends & families and also Island Breeze entertainment....from the maori haka, to the samoan & tongan taualuga, tahitian dances and even the fire knife dance. Thanks to our good friend Trish who headed the kitchen, we served over 300 plates just in the first round... Steak plates consisted of:

*Salad

*Cake

*Bottled Water

The monies made was over the amount that we needed to send our boys to Oahu next week.... Yipee!!! Enjoy the pics!!

Couldn't believe our ears when we heard that the "Kids Free Day Fair" today would be FREE.........everything! From face painting, to keiki ID's, to cotton candy, shaved ice, cake, chili & rice, hand outs, jumper castles, hot dogs, entertainment and sooo much more.. Our kids had a blast! We met up with Kierstin and her kiddies and they enjoyed themselves so much. We then went to the movies to watch '17 again', and 'Hannah Montana' (again). It was a good day.

KONA FARMERS MARKET SWEETS

Here in the islands we are blessed to be surrounded by an vast array of colors, flowers, fruits, and vegetables. After all, we do live here in paradise, where just about ANYTHING can grow. Here in Kona, we have a few Farmers markets here & there where the local farmers grow and harvest their own crops and bring it all to one place to sell it to the public........WE TOTALLY LOVE IT!! It gives me the chance to be creative with my cooking in and to keep my kids eating healthy.........Stir fry's, salads, grilled, raw, or just to snack on....MMMMMMMMMM ONOLICIOUS!!

This weekend was full of reflecting, relaxing and remembering.......On Saturday while Tony, Uncle Raymond and the "boys" were away in Hilo for Anton's rugby game, I had the chance to sleep in, eat breakfast in my pajamas with Ephraim, Fou & Tony and enjoy the cool breezes and sunrise over Hualalai as we sat on our back patio that overlooks the ocean...
we got ready and went to watch the Hannah Montana movie that was just GREAT! I haven't really been a Miley Cyrus fan........till now! Her new movie was definitely worth taking my kids to see and also had me reminiscing about my childhood years growing up and how important FAMILY really is and knowing & remembering where you came from!

After the boys came home, we ended our day throwing some Steaks and potatoes on the grill with steamed veggies, and since we have started gathering together around our dinner table to sit & eat our meals instead of everyone sitting where they want to sit, it's been absolutely entertaining!! Our kids have stories after stories to tell, and while we're eating we talk about upcoming family events, and it simply brings our family closer together! After dinner we watched a very good movie with our family......."FAITH.......LIKE POTATOES" which was very inspiring, motivating and uplifting!!

The kids woke us up by crawling in our bed. EASTER SUNDAY........we attended our church meetings and remembered the Antonement & Sacrifice of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. We wanted to keep the true spirit of Easter alive throughout the day so as we enjoyed our dinner (pork roast with gravy, steamed zuchinni & carrots, bread & butter and fresh papaya and tangelo's, caramel brownie cups and chocolate devil's food cake with home-made frosting & chocolate chips... Fou's new developed talent in baking!! Great job Foufou! and we watched a church movie then had an awesome Family Home Evening!! I'm loving these times we spend as "family." and especially while the kids are still young....

With all the happenings we have going on in the Palepoi home, it's amazing how I even find time to blog... We had a fantastic weekend filled with family visits, a rugby game, a baby luau, cleaning house and even to grocery shop!! YEAHH!!! Last week, I had some time to spend with my kids and also get them ready for school starting again after being off for Spring Break for 2 weeks... With our struggling economy, some people assume that in order to enjoy time as a family, there is a price tag attached to everything.... I will have to disagree with that. Here in Hawaii Nei, we have so many activities to do as a family that have no cost that comes with it. With a family of 6, we are enjoying the many different things to do that is fun and very cost effective with our children especially that we're going into the 2nd week of our Spring Break..Between the beautiful beaches, the pool, library, parks, playing volleyball, family get-togethers and even having them re-organize their rooms & closets... We've been very creative *smile*... But one of my favorite things to do is to sit at the end of the day and watch the sun set from our house... This view is taken from our living room last night as my husband & I were sitting down in peace & quiet just reflecting on our family..... These small simple things are truly........THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE!!

On our way to City of Refuge, we stopped off at the famous FARMERS MARKET to let the kids shop for a little bit while I bought some fresh fruits and their all famous PINEAPPLE MAC NUT BREAD..... MMMMM it was soooo delicious!!! With it's soft, moist, bread, there is chunks of pineapple and mac nuts mixed in... What? It was for the long ride.... *wink*

We rode further down to Kealakekua Bay and I took a few shots while we were there... Isn't it absolutely Beautiful?

We unloaded the car with our cooler packed with sandwiches, chips, strawberries, sweet crunchy yellow bell peppers, japanese cucumbers, and oreo cookies........ WOW! It was soo good..

"An Evening of Fun with Kona 2nd Ward's Young Women"

Last night we had an evening of fun at my house including all of our Kona 2nd Ward's Young Women 12-17 yr olds... It was called "A Night with Aunty Tara", which I was to share with them & show different hobbies & interests that I have..which is exactly what I did.we learned a hula "Hawaiian Hula Eyes", because hula dancing has always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. We then gave each other 'pedicures' since I love pedicures sooo much *wink*.....we ate dinner (my favorite) Sour Cream Enchilladas with spanish rice, tossed green salad and a wide variety of desserts....cup cakes, krispy kreme doughnuts, chocolate chip cookies..(the desserts were made by the young women).....We had a fun evening of laughs, good food and we all learned something about one another... I encouraged & challenged each one of them to cultivate and nuture their own individual talents and skills and start now while they are young to learn different hobbies to pass down to their children and to share with others. I'm soo Grateful for my calling in the Young Women (Beehive Advisor). The girls are Great examples to me and have taught me in many ways.. I hope you enjoy the pictures......P.S. Anton's Rugby team is gettin better by the day!!! The boys (and girls) on the team have been practicing every mondays and wednesdays for their games and scrimmages on saturday's... I must say, Uncle Raymond is an awesome coach! We've been making it a point to get some excercise as a 'family' during Anton's practice we jog around the park, then swim right there at the Community Center pool. It's been a lot of fun and what a better way to spend Spring Break than outdoors...........especially here in Hawaii Nei.....

Of all the places to grow up, I wouldn't change it for the world...........HAUULA! Yup, Masa's store, Hauula elementary, Hauula park, shopping center, Alligator pond, Kakela's, Ching tong Leong store, Homestead.................I have some Great memories of growing up in Hauula.....

This past weekend Mana had some friends visit from Hauula that he grew up with, and that we knew as well. They invited us over for dinner...We had fun reminising, laughing, crackin jokes and updating one another on the haps with our families. It's nice once in awhile to get together with friends & family to hang out, relax, and enjoy some good company... It was great to see everyone!!!

Wow! What an awesome day........our boys (Kona Bulls) had a great game against Waimea... we lost, but the boys had fun and so did we.. We headed out early this morning after loading up the van with the "usuals" blankets, drinks, snacks, sweaters, and low and behold...........it was a BEAUTIFUL DAY in Waimea...........Cold & Rainy in Kona, but warm and sunny in Waimea... Go figure.....it's usually the other way around. It was fun until Amari sprained his ankle during one of the plays but sucked it up and gave it all during the entire game.... We're sooo proud of you Amari... Uncle Raymond Taala (the boys coach) says........"THIS GAME WILL TURN YOU INTO A MAN!!" hahahahaha... It sure has! It was nice spending time once again with my 2 sisters and ALLLLLLLLLL of our 4,000 kids.. *smile*... After the game, we headed downt to the Queen Shops at Waikoloa for some ICE CREAM from Marble Slab. Tia (uncle raymonds daughter)works there, so she made us some really ono ice cream sundae's.....THANKS TIA!

It's been an awesome few months having Elder McFarland serve as a missionary in his first area right here in our ward. He came straight from Western Samoa and has been such a blessing to our ward family and also to others as well. Tomorrow morning he will be transfered to a different area so we had him and his companion over for dinner along with another family in our ward too who has a son leaving for the MTC this Friday.... Wow! we are surrounded by missionary work!!!!! We wish them both the very best of luck in all they do and to serve the Lord with all their heart. Thank you Jonah, for an awesome Family Home Evening last night. He recapped on what our Stake High Councilman spoke on yesterday at church and we watched a DVD on respect & love in the home and honoring your parents. It was PERFECT!! As we ended our Family Home Evevning, our family (all 7 of us) decided to take a ride for some DONUTS & MILK. As we ate, sat in front of our Kona Temple. We laughed and sang songs along the way... It's these moments that we cherish for a lifetime.... I LOVE YOU FAMILY!!

Kimo Kahanu, our family friend has been preparing to serve a mission for sometime now and we're sooooo very proud of him & all of his accomplishments...Today, we went to his farewell at the La'iopua Community Center where his family put on a luncheon for all of his family & friends. It was Great! Now if you're asking why we never lose weight? THIS IS WHY!! We're constantly surrounded by parties, funerals, farewells, games, b-day parties etc.... well, hopefully Tony & I will be better at it....hhhmmm we will see. Anyway, there was Hawaiian food of all kine..........poi, lomi salmon, chicken long rice, laulau, salads, deserts etc.. It was Great!

Our day started early at 6am, filling the cooler with propel & vitamin water, making sandwiches and slicing fruit to take to the boys first RUGBY game. I thought we had good seats. We met up wtih Owen, Kierstin, Jill, & all the kids.....right in the front where we could watch our boys Anton, Amari and Elias play their first game.........THEY DID GREAT!!! They were right in there with the ball, tossing, throwing, falling and sliding in the mud....WOO HOO!! Anton & Amari had some good plays and so did Elias...We're so proud of them. This is jus the beginning of the season............STAY TUNED!!!!!
