Our Refuge...........AWAY FROM THE WORLD

Okay, well it might not be in Cabo San Lucas, but it's "OUR" get away for our family and it's.................yes OUR HOME. It's quiet, cool, beautiful views and just right for our family. One afternoon, our family was busy with just...............NOTHING. Doing our own thing everyone was just tied up with NOTHING... hahaha. So, I went around the house and tried to capture everyone in their own world.....

JUST BECAUSE.....

With the business of our world, and our individual lives, it's so important to stay on track with your goals, resolutions and accomplishments. Throughout my day I reflect on the things that I cherish the most......MY FAMILY. My children, and how much I love them so much. The simple they do & say make me laugh to myself thinking how innocent their thoughts and actions really are............well, most the times at least..hahaha. Baby Tony asked me if I was born with big legs? hahaha. Ephraim asked me a few funny things last week too and I couldn't hold myself together.... I adore each and every one of them and wanted everyone to know that. So, I posted up a few pictures...............JUST BECAUSE

LIFE IN HAWAII NEI

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE living here on the Beautiful big island of Hawaii. Most of all, to work in a place like this is truly a blessing. From the scenery & views, to the fragrance of fresh flowers, to the sound of traditional Hawaiian music playing in our lobby. I'm Grateful everyday for the opportunity I have to live here. I meet people from all over the world who leave their busy lives to come here for peace and serenity, even if it is for just a few days. It helps to revitalize your senses, relax your mind, body & spirit, and appreciate the more "simple" things in life. To see them arrive in business attire only to change into shorts, t-shirt and slippahs makes me giggle. This has got to be.......THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE I'VE EVER BEEN TO...*smile*.

Lunch with AUNTY!!

Yoo Hoo!!! We heard it calling us for sometime now, and we FINALLY ate lunch there today....... it's Waikoloa's newest Italian eatery......MACARONI GRILL. Aunty Pinky invited us to lunch and it was ONO...We enjoyed our fresh baked rosemary with butter krusty bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, freshly tossed caesar salad with cracked pepper and squeezed lemon, then our entre's consisted of Pork Cutlet with brocolli floweretts and creamy rice & mushroom gorgenzola... it hit the spot just right and filled us up until.................DESERT TIME!! We enjoyed a sampler plate of their specialty deserts: lemon cake, chocolate cake with chocolate & nuts, and tiramisu... Thanks Aunty for spending time with us, We Love you very much and ALWAYS look forward to our next get-together with you...!!!

BOYZ

BOYS WILL BE BOYS WILL BE BOYS......Ephraim, Anton, Tony and Jonah are the 4 boys in our family. Amongst the stinky sweaty socks & t-shirts, footballs, basketballs, wrestling in the house, paintballing, football practice, online video games, our fun-filled boys are so much fun to have around. We currently have 4 Preisthood holders in our home which brings comfort & blessings to our family. How Grateful we are to have our................BOYS!

Tony & Anton's Scout night

Every Thursday at our chapel, we have Scouts, Youth Activities and sporting events.......our ward is AWESOME! Tony & Anton got their books and pamphlets ready to begin some new projects in the Scouting program. Jill is one of our scout leaders and does a great job!! From signing off on completed projects to hosting their blue & gold dinners, it takes a lot of work & effort and we appreciate every bit of it!! Good luck this year boys!

Fou's New Beginnings YW Program....

Last night was Kona 2nd Ward's New Beginnnings Program at the chapel and the theme was "The Parable of the 10 Virgins"... the storyline fit perfectly for the young women and as they listened intently, the look on their faces said it all. It was Fou's first time in Young Women and as we welcomed everyone, each mother of the new beehive had to write a little something about their daughter. As I read mine to Fou, the "ugly cry" started to take over my face.....(haha). We're so proud of her and all of her accomplishments at such a young age. As she enters into our Young Women program she will be enveloped with love by her leaders.. I've been serving in the Young Women as the Beehive advisor for a few months now and forgot what it was like to be a part of the youth program. With the temptations that our kids have nowadays regarding cell phones, internet, ipods etc. the challenges they face are difficult more now then ever before. All in all we had a Great evening and know this year will be filled with spiritual events..........

Ahhh the joys of high school...

Ephraim, our oldest son who is now 14 and a Freshman at Kealakehe High School is definitely our teenager!! Between his wardrobe of surf & prep shorts, beanies & heanies, logo'd T-shirts, and stylin backpacks.......there's never a dull moment! Today is his first day of spring training for high school football and I'm sure he'll love it. He's been encouraged by numerous teachers, friends and coaches to start now and develop his skills physically & mentally. At a mere 6 ft 3 inches tall and a size 14 shoe, this boy is bound for sports. We hope to encourage him in all that he does that no matter what it is he strives for, we will support him 100%. His love for his heritage and culture is boundless with no limits. He can speak Samoan, English and some Tongan. We love you Ephraim!

ENJOYING THE SOUNDS

I've been enveloped into the sounds of a full house, the sounds of "Mom? Mom? Mom?" and love every minute of it......from Ephraim to baby Tony, it's been an earfull of enjoyment. Yesterday, Tony and the 3 kids picked me up from work, and when I was done, Tony went to run a few errands at the resort so we had to wait for him on the grass downstairs by the beach... Anton, Fou and Tony were wrestling, playing, laughing, and enjoying the sun on their faces while they ate chocolate ice cream cones and lihing mui candies. These are the sounds that bring peace to my heart and creates an endless smile on my face from ear to ear...... I hope to be posting more pictures like these...

OUR FAMILY

We now have all 4 of our children home with us and what an experience we all have been through. Ephraim who is now 14 yrs old is the eldest of our children, at 6 ft 3 inches tall, he's now a freshman at Kealakehe High School. With paddling as one of his favorite sports, he's thinking of venturing into football and/or basketball within the next year or so. He has taken it upon himself to learn more about his heritage & culture and has since learned 2 new languages....(samoan & tongan) We're proud of him and his efforts in seminary, church and school. Love you son!

Anton who is 12 yrs old is eager to begin school once again at Kealakehe. His friends has embraced & welcomed him back into the "groove" of school......island style. He will be receiving his preisthood this coming Sunday and is able to pass the Sacrament next week. He has grown in so many ways and we're proud of all he does. Love you son!

Alafou, our 11 yr old daughter is the "princess" of the home. She has grown to be nearly 5'5 and is skinny as a twig (we'll have her fattened up in no time)...hahaha. Fou will be entering into Young Women this year. Her sense of humor keeps us all on our toes. Between our pedicures, manicures and hairstyles, she's keepin up with the fashion nowadays. She loves her Samoan culture and has recently learned to speak the language... We're proud of you Foufou.... Love you so much!

Baby Tony is......well, yes.......THE BABY of the family. Although he's the baby, don't let him fool you. He's organized, curious, funny, smart and very athletic. He will be 9 in May of this year and has so far fit right in. He's ANOTHER momma's boy and loves to cuddle at night in our bed. He is very inquisitive and always has a question ready for you about anything & everything..... We love you too son!

Last but not least, is our hanai son Jonah....we have taken him in under our wings since May of last year. He is definitely a part of our ohana and blends right in. At 16 yrs old, it makes him the oldest in our household (minus us old farts). He is a great example in all that he does, spiritually, physically and mentally. As an honor student at Kealakehe high school, he's also able to manage wrestling, polynesian dancing, seminary, and church. We are very proud of him and how much he has grown within the past 2 years. We love love you Jonah!

FAMILY!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! This year has started with a BANG....I'd like to begin by saying how Grateful we are for all that we have been blessed with....family, health, happiness, and most importantly this wonderful thing we have called The Gospel.
